8 Miles Down is a folk-rock band based in Mission, Kansas. Great songwriting, inter-woven acoustic guitars and smooth harmonies are the defining characteristics of their music. Formed in 1997 as a trio, remaining founding members Joe Biesterfeld and Ken Kresha continue to perform backed by a rhythm section as well as an acoustic duo.

Exhibiting a positive, upbeat title the band's repertoire has grown to consist of 50+ original songs and a wide variety of crowd favorite cover songs. Influences include The Eagles, The Indigo Girls, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Sister Hazel, and Counting Crows. Throughout the years the band has maintained a constant schedule of performances at a variety of Midwest venues. Highlights include:
