Bro. Upshaw started singing at a very early age and has been a recording artist for 25 years. He has traveled all over the Southeastern part of the state and shared the stage with many outstanding groups and choirs. He is known and well recieved throught the country.

Bro. Upshaw has recieved many awards such as the 1986 Golden Gospel Award, the 1989 Proclamation Award for Gospel from the Fulton County Board of Commisioners and several other appreciation and recognition awards and plaques from churches all over. He became a member of the Masonic Lodge in 1965 and was ordained a deacon in 1986 at Sardis Baptist Church in Kennesaw, Georgia, Bro. Upshaw''s fist album recording was entitled "Be Sure" and since then, has been recorded more times. He recorded one song with his daughter entitled "God Can Work Things Out." The song turned out to be a big hit for the group. Since that time, a change has been made in the group, reorganizing as The New National Travelers.

Bro. Upshaw and the group thank all that have supported them and are asking for many prayers. Because as we all know, through prayer all things are possible. To God be the Glory.
