Sam Mellon and The Skylarks are a Los Angeles based band who have developed a reputation as a unique hybrid of Americana, Vintage Country, and Folk music styles.

In September of 2005, the band recorded 10 tracks at House of Faith Recording Studio in Oakland,CA with engineer Bart Thurber. Wanting to remain true to their Alt-Country/ Americana/Roots-Rock sound the Skylarks recorded to 16 track, 1 inch analog tape which provided the appropriate sonic palette. Mixing and post-recording production was a family affair, performed by Drummer and Musical Director, Dave Ray with assistance from Ed Tree and Jon Griffin while mastering was performed by Myles Boisen back in Oakland, CA. The finished product, and forthcoming full-length album capture the sound of the birth of a band that respects the soul of the genuine music which inspires them.
