Details:
A Thousand Years was written and recorded by Greg Pearson from December 2003 - February 2004, primarily as a way to compile riff ideas and utilize a new laptop. Pearson had recorded about 30 cassettes of musical ideas over the preceeding two years, all piled in a box under his bed entitled "current," but he ended up using only some of the riffs in the recording. Most of the sounds that made the final cut were written during the recording process, a method aided in no small part by confusion with Logic Audio 6 and an overpriced computer.

The guitar is the primary instrument on A Thousand Years. It''s twisted and treated by a few studio gadgets, but the sound of the live guitar is preserved. A drum machine was used on a few tracks, and a bass was used on one track as well. The A Thousand Years sound hovers around the Nine Inch Nails, Brian Eno and U2 musical spectrum, but is conceptually quite different.

A Thousand Years is the second release on the Washington, DC Horizon Recordings label.
