Taken from his private vaults, ''Me First'' consists of eight tracks recorded over the last decade when Harvey had a working band and before he became known to the readers of The Big Takeover, Amplifier, OIL the Music Magazine, and https://www.tradebit.com as a music critic.

Leaning heavily towards The Beatles, The Who, The Smithereens, and Marshall Crenshaw, ''Me First'' features tracks such as "Deep Down", a driving Beatlesque rocker with Who bass lines; "Hurry", a bouncy neo-country pop styled ditty; "Before The Evening Falls", a bittersweet ''coming home'' tune modeled after The Smithereens; and another driving rocker a la "Deep Down" titled "You Won''t Have Time".
