Deridian is a musical ensemble which draws from a variety of genres including rock, jazz, world and funk.

The songwriting is primarily folk based, meaning the music was written to fit the lyrics and not the other way around. However, the main propellant in the mix is the use of rhythmic dissonance to affect as well as effect the listener.

Much of the unusual rhythms found in Deridian''s music comes from across the world - India, Africa, Cuba, Spain as well as some American born rhythms found in 70''s jazz-fusion and progressive rock.
