Venus Jones, the garage band, that moved into the living room. When I first met the members of Venus Jones, 10 years ago, they were loudly belching out their originals, in a slimey little bar in Southern Ca. The Volume nearly exceeded the artistry, but somehow I knew there was much more to this band. Yes, they knew how to turn their amps up to 11, but what about the songs? Eventually they figured out that Loud doesn''t necessarily equal Omnipotence. And as it turns out, underneath it all were some very good songs.
Lead singer,rhythm-Guitarist, Patti Pannell, and Bassist, Darcey Stubblefield, collaborated on the songs on their current album; Venus Jones "Side Dish". Drummer, James Stubblefield and Lead guitarist Shaun Shelton, blend in with their own brand of talent and style. With songs written with humor and heartache, and a very entertaining live show, this band will never be sent out to the garage again.
