Lernte Geige und Klavier, 1966 erhielt er den Gulda-Jazz-Solistenpreis. Gründete 1965 sein erstes Quartett, 1970-74 bei Hans Koller, Solistenpreis in der CSSR, Lehrer für Jazzseminare in Dänemark neben George Russel, Red Mitchel, Don Cherry u.a.

Spielte mit Aladar Pege, Ack van Royen, Jimmy Woode, Art Farmer, Tony Scott, Benny Bailey, Carl Drewo, Dusko Goykovich,.Peter Bockius, Rundfunk und TV aufnahmen. Mit diversen Bestzungen im Club.
