Details:
Debra Mathis grew up in the deserts of New Mexico. Her mother set her at the piano on a stack of hymnals at the age of four, and lessons began. Poetry struck her heart early at the age of seven, and haunted her ever since.
Debra received her B.S. in Music Theory and Behavioral Psychology from Western Michigan University. She has two sons, has published her first book of poetry, her first spoken word CD, “Stolen Match”, and her first solo piano improvisational album in “Phantoms Dance”.
Debra currently resides in the Pacific Northwest, and is working on her masters in psychology. Cooking, gardening, baking, playing piano, and two aged cats, Princess Pepper and Rex…. These take up her time.
