In early 2005, Spanish Blue emerged from the hills
of The Borough to unleash its innovative blend of
phila-funked-hiphopic-rock upon Philly. The sound
could be best described in one word - layered, its
frame work consisting of: funk laced, intricate bass
lines coinciding with a rock driven tempo ranging
from melodic to chaotic; multi-dimensional guitar
work which fits perfectly within the established
scheme; the classic purity of the Fender Rhodes
and Hammond B3 taking you back in time; a wide
range of Afro-Cuban inspired percussion filling
in the occasional void; free-ranging and steamy,
throwback saxophones and flute; all fronted by a
wordsmith with an array of styles supported by an
