Ram Murti, a native Southern Californian, started singing at age 9 and by 14 was writing songs, playing guitar and singing in a rock band. He would spend a lot of time at the Folk Music Center learning by doing.
Always facinated by the mysterious and spiritual, he came to the Vedanta Society for the first time at age 17. By 20 years old, he was an active member and singing solos and in the men''s choir almost every Sunday. After his first pilgrimage to India at 22, Ram Murti felt very fortunate to be initiated into Spiritual Life by the extraordinary Swami Prabhavananda.
Avid organic gardeners, Ram Murti and his wife Miriam are very active members of the Portland Oregon Vedanta Society. Completing this CD has been a long held dream come true for him.
