This CD is a compilation of songs I have written related to the birth of Christ. I didn''t intend it to be a Christmas album as much as my own thoughts on this amazing event. I also didn''t want it to sound like "Randy Thompson does Bing Crosby does Christmas". My other intent was to try and strip away some of the trappings of ''Christmas'' that have become so synonymous with the season and give this event back some of the earthiness and miraculousness and reality that it embodies. Angels appearing to a young girl announcing the she was to be the Mother of the Son of God. God becoming a man in a stable in a nowhere place called Bethlehem to two poor young people who were chosen for something they could not comprehend. The event being heralded by angels. Shepherds being directed to go and worship him. Kings taking an unbelievable journey to find the King of Kings with nothing more than a strange star and some prophetic writings about a King to be born to the Jews to guide them. All of this is not about trees and bows and silver bells, packages under the tree, egg nog etc. It was something so much bigger and so much more!. It is about God''s plan to meet men as one of them with a voice we could hear and someone we could touch and who could touch us as no one else had ever done. In doing this God provided man with an answer to his greatest need - to experience and live in a love that would truly set us free to know the life God meant us to have. Merry Christmas!
