James Carlson has been playing guitar, mandolin, and songwriting for the past 30 years. This is what the publisher of Tempo, Northern California, had to say about his new release, MEET THE RAIN.

"I popped the cd in my dashboard on the way. The first thing I thought was this ain''t bluegrass. If I gave this style a name it could be "country blupop." Funny thing, when James handed me a copy of this masterpiece his eyes said it all. "Meet the Rain" has a couple of songs such as "Rain Bird" and "Mary Lou" worthy of a Grassie nomination in 2008.

His music is like...Good!, and is something that gets into that sweet spot in your soul. James has hit a note for many here with what I call a mix of mystical country soul. "Meet the Rain" takes you to many places musically and emotionally filled with surprises and a zesty originality. It is said that the path is narrow and few find it. James you just found it. I give the release a FIVE STAR rating.
