I’m the fourth child, born of Lottie Pittman and
Charles Carter, Jr. My parents separated when I was 4
years old. For awhile we moved to New Orleans, LA,
eventually we moved back to Waynesboro, MS. I was
brought up around music. Granddad and grandma taught
me to pray to Jesus, translating this to save me, my folks
and my people.
The past years of my life have made me hustle even
more, especially when I’m at my worse, Jesus Christ is worth
more than silver and gold. What is it a man to gain in this
whole world then die and lose his soul. Born and raised in
a shack with roaches and rats, needed cash, did that, got
that, still on the grind chasing that, CASH. My mission is
to inspire others in the struggle, God Jesus Christ loves us.
I had no father figure through it all. I still love my daddy. I looked at my father laying on his death bed dying,
I knew if he could do it all over again he would be a better father to all of his kids. Mama Lottie is the sweetest
person I know, she’s been there through all my operation.
I was raised eating mayonnaise sandwiches, drinking sugar water, eating peach and apple cobbler. I
learned the only way I was going to have anything was to work hard for it. It’s cool to be country, that is only if you
got money, 20’s, 50’s and 100’s. You have it in words. May my life speak for me. You have it in words, through
God may my scriptures and words in music comfort you and give you peace. I’m a strange man in a strange land.
If I couldn’t say a word, I’ll just wave my hand in peace!
