I am a native of Chicago who now resides in beautiful Bozeman Montana. I wrote mt first song when I was 12, soon after the untimely death of my mother. Writing poetry and music was a way for me to heal and express my deep sorrow. I wrote a lot of poetry in high school. I started writing lyrics and music again after college. I take no credit for any of my songs. I often feel like a scribe taking dictation. Lyric and melody come through all at once, like a gift from the Source of all gifts.
The Call of the Chrysalis is a metaphorical journey into the womb of the Beloved where all that we thought we knew about Love and Life dissolves. In surrendering to this dark, interior journey, a new understanding is awakened, and we begin to Remember. The call of the chrysalis is a call to die a thousand little deaths so as to be reborn in freedom.
The CD begins with a invitation to witness my journey from caterpillar, into the chrysalis and out again as a butterfly. It ends with an invitation for you to take this journey yourself. I give you a topographical map of the interior landscape as I know it. I show you signs and vistas along the way.
The music is eclectic. No one style can contain the beauty of the inner journey. I invite you to let go of boxes such as Jazz or Country or Folk and to allow the music to open that place in your heart that simply loves good Music.
