“Hey, Holy Nation!” is the nearest I am likely to come to a, “Greatest hits album,” as it includes the songs I have found most effective in corporate worship. As for myself, I am a church musician first and last although in times gone by I have played in pubs, clubs and restaurants earning my living from my guitar. I have survived bar room brawls and suffered the usual, “I can make you a star,” offers. To put bread on the table I teach kids to play. What else? Oh yes, I am married with three kids who have flown the nest but who are still talking to me so I suppose I did all right as a father.

My hopes for the future? Well I seem a bit long in the tooth to become Scotland’s next pop star so I think I’ll stick to writing user friendly praise songs. If you want to use them in your church then I would be delighted, just remember to include them in your annual report to CCLI. If you need a praise song based on a particular passage of scripture I would be happy to put my God given gift at your service. I also make some guitars, preach the odd sermon, dabble in historical writings and compose instrumental pieces for guitar and piano.
