The first seven songs are based on a true tragedy that happened on the ice flows in the North Atlantic ocean off the coast of Newfoundland,Canada, in 1914 when over seventy men froze to death when caught in a vicious three day winter storm.

The rest of the songs remain in the same theme of the working man and the sea.
