Undefined is the name. Defined and refined is the music. A seven-piece nu-urban posse residing in Belgium, that serves an original musical blend, with the main ingredients being Hip-hop, dancehall, breakbeat crossover and funk. The formation of the band goes back to 1997, when guitarist Hansiman, keyboard player Alejandro and drummer Miquel got together as a jam band. In 2005 they expanded with scratcher Jebbadisa, bass player Zeppos and two MC’s: Rhygin, a vocalist who spent half of his young life in the US where he learned to love all things Hip-hop, and Jaymee, a Dutch Haitian with a Caribbean flow. Their lyrics float on mellow funk – think The Roots, Erykah Badu – at other times on fat Hip-hop and dance beats with funky guitars. In 2007 they released their first demo-cd “Eternal Undefined” that got good reviews from the Belgian press. Undefined played at venues like Het Depot and STUK and have worked with artists like Kaer (STARFLAM) and Eek-a-Mouse (Jamaica). Today Undefined is famed for being one of the best upcoming live acts in their area. More cities are next. Recently, they were finalists of Rockvonk 2007 and their first music video for the song “Eternal Undefined” has been spotted on national TV. Aim. Lock and shoot.
