Radio personality Dr. Demento warmly narrates three adorable stories, "Little Red Riding Hood," "Rumpelstiltskin" and "Rapunzel" from the enchanting and timeless collection of Grimm''s Fairy Tales. Despite Dr. Demento''s well-earned reputation for "mad music and crazy comedy," these magical stories are not a spoof, but a sensitive, captivating re-telling of some of the world''s best-loved narratives. They feature back-up voices and musical scoring by Artie Barnes.

Since 1970, Dr. Demento has been radio''s king of funny music. Along with such stellar laughmakers as Tom Lehrer, Stan Freberg, Allan Sherman, Frank Zappa, and Monty Python, Dr. D. has introduced the world to newer novelties like "Fish Heads," "Dead Puppies," "Star Trekkin''" and the parodies of "Weird Al" Yankovic.

Probably the best known single song to have been premiered by Dr. Demento is "Fish Heads" by Barnes & Barnes. Only after the song had become Dr. Demento''s most requested hit was it revealed that Art and Artie Barnes are, in reality, actor-singer-musician Bill Mumy (Babylon 5, Twilight Zone, Will Robinson in the original "Lost In Space" series) and singer-musician-recording producer Robert Haimer. In 1980 Fish Heads was made into a very popular short film starring then-unknown Bill Paxton, with cameos by Dr. Demento along with Art and Artie.

More recently, Dr. Demento and Barnes & Barnes became involved in a variety of projects for the Kid Rhino label. It was Artie''s idea to have Dr. Demento narrate an album of classic fairy tales. However, due to a change of direction at Kid Rhino, the album was never released.

Now, for the first time ever, this exciting cd with three completed tracks of the best-loved and enchanting as ever fairytales-- never heard by anyone outside Kid Rhino until now, and soon to be a Dr. Demento collector''s item -- is now available to the public!
