Oingo Boingo and Frank Zappa were a big inspiration to this band. Gomer''s guitar style is a mix of Steve Vai, Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, and Frank Zappa. Steve Morse is also a favorite player. One of Gomer''s outstanding solos can be heard on "Bumblin'' Idiots" and "Sex".

The Gomer Hendrix band has been around since 1998 playing bars and various private parties around the San Francisco bay area. The band is also known for being a party dance band.
