Upward Spiral is the first of a series of 10 instrumental EPs from Brian Parra. The first one, is a cross of various generas, and a look back at some past Four Forty Four songs. It includes the prelude track to Tsunami Vs Sandcastle: Round 1, which was never released on the album "Watch What I Become". In this cd, without a full band, songs start becoming longer, and more complicated. Its the first cd where Brian incorporates heavy use of midi combined with the use of analog recorded instruments. Guest drummers on the album include Alex Gillen, Amir Oosman, Adam Wilson, Max Salmon, and Tristan Boiset. The entire album was recorded, mixed and mastered at Sandcastle Studios.
