RC & the Groovediggers is an exciting new smooth jazz group lead by producer/composer/guitarist Royce Campbell who is the composer of the smooth jazz hit song "Kiwi" from the CD "Vista"(Sin-drome) that garnered extensive airplay on smooth jazz radio. "Right Now" is the first smooth jazz release on Campbell''s own label Moon Cycle Records.
Campbell also has had numerous CD''s on the mainstream jazz charts and his sideman credentials include Marvin Gaye, Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini, The Fifth Dimension, etc. and Campbell''s supporting musicians on "Right Now" have some impressive credentials of their own. The keyboard player, Butch Taylor, tours with the Dave Mathews Band. Two of the horn players, Bobby Read and John D''Earth are from Bruce Hornsby''s band and the bass player, J,T. Brown, tours with Mary Chapin Carpenter.
