California band, grown, has released their first CD entitled Raven Thoughts. Their music is dark and evocative, weaving primitive rhythms and rich textures with lyrics that verge toward true poetry in an attempt to enter the mind by way of the collective unconscious. Because grown''s emphasis is on art and variation, the band''s sound defies typical classifications.

At its core the music is rock-based--the standard line-up of guitar, bass, drums, and horns--but mingled with this are echoes ranging from world music and jazz, to psychedelia and country.
