The HYPE is a 3-piece Rock and Roll band from Memphis, Tennessee. They play a music that combines the energy of punk and power pop with the solid drive and soul of classic rock. Luke McKee plays guitar and sings; Stephen Gifford plays bass; and Doug DuBose completes the line up on drums.

While it took over six months to finish the entire package, the band is not trying to reinvent the wheel with this recording. "Rock and Roll: CONFIDENTIAL" is a collection of songs that are upbeat, memorable and (above all) fun. This CD goes out to:

* anyone who loves music but is not a musician and doesn''t really care about the type of strings the guitarist uses, the wattage of the bass rig or the influences of the drummer

* anyone who is in a band that knows what those things are but decides not to bore the people in the first group

"Rock and Roll: CONFIDENTIAL" was recorded in the Summer and Fall of 2004 at Easley-McCain Studios with Kevin Cubbins engineering and co-producing with The HYPE.
