This song started out as a project for a creative writing class for a small group of home schooled students. It has grown into something that will hopefully touch Americans who have or have ever had loved ones serving in the military. Here are those lyrics:

A mother cradles daughter - as she holds her little doll
A lot of people talking - there''s excitement through the tears
Since the soldiers left us - the months have seemed like years

The anticipation peaks - as the plane comes into sight,
Every heart begins to race - when the soldiers leave their flight.
