Jeff Smith and His Band of Steves have been a performing unit since God made automatic guitar tuners. Jeff has been a solo performer and founding member of the fabled Sleepers Washington DC) who won hearts and minds in an Austrailian traffic jam one hot summer''s day in 1984, when an enterprising DJ happened to play the Sleepers single,"An American Boyfriend". Needless to say that when the flipside of the single, "Nervous Individual" (on Schizophonic Records)was played, the traffic snarls and phone calls to the radio station stopped all forward momentum of the day.
Steve Brigida and his pal and cohort Steve Cooper both played in the the Sleepers and before that in the American pure pop band, Artful Dodger. The Steves are as tight as a rubber band and flesh out Smith''s songs with verve, wit and back up vocals.
Recent live sightings have seen this trio expanded into a quartet with the addition of songwriter/guitarist and producer Jeff Severson who was the arranger and guitarist for the late 80''s pop/rock band Four Out of Five Doctors.
Jeff and His Band of Steve''s are a rock n roll band who aren''t afraid of showing the roots that inform the music they play and will take you all the way down to those roots hip shaking all the way.
