The songwriter at the heart of "Only Believe" is Rose Augustine, a petite, 71-year-old grandmother of three and caregiver to her ailing husband. Her songwriting abilities, Rose firmly believes, are gifts from God for the sole purpose of encouraging listeners. It was 1980 when the makings of inspirational songs literally began coming to Rose in her sleep — sometimes as lyrics, other times as melodies, and almost always in completion by day’s end.

More than a quarter century later, Rose’s midnight melodies fill not only her home music room, but also Midwestern airwaves (even as far as Buffalo, New York). With the birth of “Only Believe” came a veritable who’s-who of gospel singers who lent their vocal gifts to the inspired lyrics and melodies — Billy Steele of the "Sounds of Blackness," the nationally acclaimed Gwen Matthews who tours Europe with the Denis Colin Trio; Minnesota Master Vocalist and famed "Pavarotti of Gospel" Robert Robinson; world-renowned gospel and jazz great Bruce Henry; Julius Collins of Minneapolis’ “Greazy Meal” fame; actor/soloist Genovee Ford with his rich, distinctive sound; and amazing instrumental accompanists the likes of “Dr. (Matt) Fink” and Kenni Holmin.
