Melba J. Sutton is a native of Kansas and was raised on a farm in Ness City. Melba studied classical piano as a child and at Kansas State University. She returned to her love of playing the piano during the past year as a testimony to the healing qualities of music.

Awakening of the Soul is a collection of eight solo piano pieces and a reprise of two of the solo piano pieces with synthesized orchestration. This CD is a Gift where the music offers internal guidance for the transmission of energy, imagination, joy, and creativity. "For a moment in time I was carried through an emotional experience embodied by the movement of the music".

Pianist and composer Melba J. Sutton devotes her life to the social work profession working with individuals who struggle with alcohol and drug addictions.
