The Learning Island Style CD is a great learning tool for young children, primarily preschool thru kindergarten. This CD adds a little twist to teaching children their alphabet, numbers, colors, shapes, and much more. Not only are the lyrics original and fun to sing along with, but also the songs provide a sense of Hawaii. Within some of the songs, you will find references to things you see on the island of Hawaii, as well as simple Hawaiian lyrics.
The original music and lyrics will capture children’s attention and keep them engaged by tapping into their love for music. By listening and singing along to the entertaining music, children’s confidence will increase, which is important from a young age. These catchy tunes are an effective way to retain children’s memory when trying to remember the information they’ve learned. Children with various levels of knowledge will be able to see success and improvement with this CD.
The most effective way to teach children using this CD is to allow them to listen and learn at their own free will. It would be harmful and perhaps detrimental if children were forced to learn. Children’s motivation must come from within in order for the learning experience to be fun and the most beneficial. If children choose not to listen to this CD, the best suggestion would be to play it as “background” music while they are riding in the car, eating snack, playing with toys, etc. Children are still listening even though it may not appear so.
