armed with only his bass and a drum machine, toof originally began with a very skeletal soundscape. as he progressed, he started to add layers of strings to his music by using samplers and laptops. sometimes serious, although mostly not, his song subject matter is as interesting as his music.

his 2002 debut album, ''busstop style'' was greatly received by critics and fans all over the country. his memorable quotes and haunting melodies have stuck in the heads of his fans from brooklyn to san diego.
