Valerie Joyce

Valerie Joyce has been performing as a musician on the Seattle music scene since 1994. She began her study of music at age eight as part of a musical family. She is from a multicultural heritage, born in Japan to an American father and Japanese mother. She studied classical piano growing up in Japan. She stepped into the Seattle music scene after graduating from the University of Puget Sound where she majored in Music Business. She was awarded a classical piano scholarship there and studied piano with Dr. Steven Moore and Dr. Duane Hulbert for four years. In 1994, she also won a jazz vocal scholarship from the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, but opted to pursue her music in the vibrant Seattle music scene.
