Zanzibar is a solo male acoustic artist based in Los Angeles, California where he performs in various coffee houses and clubs.

He takes influence from such folk artists as Nick Drake, Donovan, Bert Jansch, Paul Simon, and others.

His vocal style can be described as a Floyd-esque subdued/mellow melodic approach.

Besides using a variety of fingerpicking approaches and open tunings, the artist accompanies some of his songs with instruments such as the mandolin, the autoharp, the tambura, and a variety of percussion.

The tracks on this CD are mostly minor-key oriented and hence have a melancholic quality.
