The objective of the music of Adulus Speaks Out is to bring a positive message to the listeners about how forces in life can control us to our own detriment and how we can deal with these forces. This is done somewhat indirectly through the artistic medium of music and poetry.

Unlike many “schools” of hip-hop/rap-thought (or lack of it) the harshness of reality is not whole heartedly embraced since it is this reality that is usually responsible for the poor state of mental health of the average person. Instead Adulus asks us to look inwards and embrace the dream world with a positive attitude, fixing problems within our own minds which are inherently the cause of many of the problems of the real world.

Music for the Modern Shaman is so entitled since this interaction with the dream world is exactly the heart of the Shamanistic practice. It is unfortunate that something so simple and effective is not better understood in our present culture; but hopefully this album will go some way to correcting this problem.
