One of the things people like most about Tom''s music is the very rich vocal harmonies. Stevie Wonder is one of his main influences, while he was also exposed to a LOT of Jazz growing up. Tom''s sister had an interesting story about the late great Jazz legend Bill Evans. She told how one day after many years of their (Tom''s and her)
father playing hundreds of hours of Bill''s Music at this certain spot in the woods in Connecticut, at the home of Tom''s father, one day Bill Evans came driving through and stopped at this spot and decided this was where he wanted to build his home, which he did. Tom''s father, John, chanced to meet Bill walking on the beach in the area and the two began a fast friendship.

One day, at the age of thirteen, Tom was walking the streets of New Haven (CT), lost, as he typically was while in the city, being from the country outside of it. When who should approach him but a strange looking
young man with hair down to his knees and big thick glasses, who was in fact a twelve year old Michael Bolton.
"Hey are you Tom Pollard?" he said.
"Yes" was the reply.
"I heard you were a great singer" How could you ever know that Tom wondered, as he had been playing in a bar across from a gun factory where it didn''t seem young Mike would fit in with the macho clientele.
"My sister is going out with your base player" ah, that explained it. From there a friendship formed that included many gigs playing together and many arguments over whether it was an f sharp or g flat that was needed. Culminating in recording "Going Back to New Haven"
for Columbia Records in NYC (written by Tom). The thingthat broke them up was Tom meeting his idol, Stevie Wonder, during rehersal at the Copacabana (NYC). After that, Tom announced to the band, "We stink" and went off on his own to practice. Most recently, Tom has been learning to record playing all the parts himself and has produced the album, "Secret Hideaway" check it out, here''s one nice review USER friendly POP music for your car stereo on a warm CRUISING TOP DOWN day...Thomas is true to his influences POP https://www.tradebit.com GOTTA HAVE IT!!
