Jean McGowan is a modern day housewife with the blues. She composed the 9 songs on her CD "Itch" (as in the seven year itch) after the birth of her second child when her sense of identity was completely in question.

She was born and raised in Central Maine and has been singing since birth. She studied English Literature at the University of Maine at Farmington and sang in a few rock bands in southern Maine before falling in love with a Californian and moving out west.

She and her family reside in Portland, Oregon where she performs at local nightclubs, because frankly, she doesn''t want to get a day job.
