Details:
David Mooney is a guitartist, composer, and vocalist born and raised in New Orleans, who lived and worked there until very recently. Like many others he was displaced by Hurricane Katrina and he made his way to Washington, D.C., where he competed in the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Guitar Competition, playing with Chris Potter, Terri Lyne Carrington, James Genus, and Bob James, and eventually placing third overall.

Luckless Pedestrian is the second guitar trio release by David Mooney. It features ten original compositions, including a more fleshed out version of the song "No More," which was recorded on 2002''s release "In This Balance of Time" (also available at CD Baby). The track "Luckless Pedestrian" is a short, through composed piece, and leads into the longer explorations of "The Clover." "Stutter Step" is a blues in 7/4, inspired by the music of Steve Masakowski, and "Janey''s Last West Coast Fling" is an uptempo romp through complex chord and meter changes.
