Details:
This is the debut release of the smooth jazz group KILAUEA. The original intent of this project was to facilitate the recording of several Russ Freeman compositions that were not being used for Russ'' other projects. The unexpected popularity of this CD, which was originally released in 1991, spawned the recording and performing group KILAUEA featuring DANIEL HO.

With the compostions all penned by guitarist Russ Freeman and most of the musicians featured being members of The Rippingtons, Art Good of "Jazz Trax" referred to this CD as "almost a mid-season Rippingtons album". However, it should be noted that Russ Freeman himself had nothing whatsoever to do with the recording of this project and it was never intended to sound like Russ'' very hot and successful group.

"Antigua Blue" went to #1 on the nationwide airplay charts and was in the top 10 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart. This CD has been out of print for several years.
