Details:
This album was put out by the legendary, now-defunct Unlike Label in 2002. It''s got a few songs produced by Rich Jankovich of Burnside Project (who sound something like New Order covering Yo La Tengo being remixed by Cornelius), a song or two produced by Harry Monkhorst of Squeaky (who sound a little like Archers of Loaf covering Alice in Chains singing Hy Zaret''s "Space Songs") and a few others recorded at various studios and living rooms across Florida.

To a certain degree, all of these songs are in praise of the Skunk Ape, a badly misunderstood entity who lurks in the Florida Everglades when not enjoying the limitless musical dimension of the String Bardo, the plane of existence where he was born.

You can think about that for a while. I understand.

There are songs here about sacred subjects in tabloid environments -- apocalyptic UFOs, the messianic Elvis, serial killers who only need to be loved. They''re all pretty catchy, I think. People seem to hum them without realizing it the day after hearing them for the first time. Hopefully, besides being catchy, they give you something to think about. And maybe jump around the bedroom, dancing by yourself, late, late at night.

Enjoy them.
