Brenda Jelks was born in California and discovered singing was what she wanted to do at the age of eight. She broke through her shyness by learning to play the piano, and was accompaining herself at the age of 16. She''s been a member of various choirs including "The Way of Faith" singers for many years.
Small of stature, (5''4" - 105lbs) Brenda makes up for it with her big voice. On "I BelieveI can fly", she reaches the ionisphere with melodic notes reminding us of Minnie Ripperton, or Denise Williams. On the title song, " Lord I Want To Be Holy", you hear through that voice a message that comes straight from her soul.
Though largely unknown now, her gift and desire to encourage, uplift, and change lives through music will surely send her rapidly up the charts.
