At age 8, Laura started playing the piano by ear. By 16, she had taught herself the guitar and began to write her own music. Upon going to art school, she had her first solo show in a loud college cafeteria, then started to dabble in open mics around the area. Starting out as more traditional “campfire” songs, Laura eventually pushed her music until she found a more honest and soul driven sound which in turn has pushed her to write over 200 songs.

Laura lived out of her car for a month this summer. In an attempt to find
open space, she drew inspiration from the mountains and western air and returned east with a new album. "A Strange and Beautiful Trip" is a balance of love and war and memories and dreams. The famous one name influences are evident in Laura''s performances, as well as in her new CD...Joni, Ani, Tori, Fiona...Bob, Elliott, Jeff, Damien...

Constantly writing, Laura searches for new ways to express her emotions. Whether beating a breezy beat on the guitar, whistling a little melody, or humming a harmony, she tests the limits in being a one-woman band, and pours her emotions out while doing so.
