I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, starting in my hometown of Highland Park, NJ. I learned to play the guitar when I was 11 or 12 at Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA in Dingman’s Ferry, PA. I think the first song I ever played was “For Your Love, “ or maybe “The Cat Came Back.” I remember staying up late one night with my brother and sister playing every “G-C-D” song we could think of. I listened, listened, listened to music. My parents played Marais and Miranda, the Kingston Trio, Harry Belafonte, Mozart, Bach; I played James Taylor, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, Laura Nyro, Aretha Franklin, Motown, the Beatles. I played WABC-AM with “Cousin Brucie’” and later flew with Allison Steele, “The Nightbird” on WNEW-FM listening to Traffic, the Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Big Brother and the Holding Company.

I began writing songs in high school, and began performing at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. I played solo acoustic guitar and vocals in coffeehouses, clubs and college pubs along the New York- Philadelphia corridor for much of the early 1980’s. I took a break to attend law school and practice law, but knowing I would need something to fall back on, I kept my music skills honed.

I settled in Lafayette CA in 2004. I joined the West Coast Songwriters Association and began to write and play again in earnest (and other places). I recorded my first CD “Left Foot Forward” in the spring of 2006. In April of 2006, “The Confession” won the Second Grand Prize in the WCSA International Song Contest. In July of 2006, "It Was You" won the WCSA North Bay Best Song award.

I continue to write and to play live in San Francisco and the East Bay. I hope you enjoy listening to my music as much as I enjoy making it.
